CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
1992 - 2002 Chris started out as a VJ in the dynamic UK dance music scene of the 1990s. Working at major events with Ministry of Sound, World Dance, and many more, he was on tour with The Prodigy by 1996. By 1999, he had built the world's first touring computer media server for the Pet Shop Boys Nightlife tour.
2003 - 2018 Chris was a Founding Partner and Director of the multi-disciplinary art studio United Visual Artists (UVA). Initially responsible for all aspects of technical production, his hands-on role evolved into Production Director and General Manager as the business grew. He managed business operations, client liaison, opportunity qualification, budgeting, finance, legal, and HR. As of 2023, UVA is 20 years old and still thriving.
2009 - 2017 Originally named ‘Mosquito,’ UVA’s in-house software was first created to drive the real-time pixel-perfect LED screen for Massive Attack’s 100th Window Tour in 2003. Chris was deeply involved in the software’s initial conception and development. From within UVA, Chris was key to road-testing various iterations of Mosquito while managing all aspects of legal, financial, and resourcing for its ongoing development into d3.
Eventually, Chris and his team split the software and hardware development of d3 into a separate company, d3 Technologies. Chris ran the business side of d3 in parallel with his role as Director of UVA, driving sales by 200% year on year and expanding the client base across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas. d3 Technologies was eventually acquired and renamed disguise, at which point Chris decided to step back from daily business operations and explore new ventures.
2017 - 2019 Chris spent a year traveling with his family before relocating to Northern Germany to restore a late Bauhaus style house in the Rhine/Ruhr region. He returned to furniture making, a craft he'd learned from his antique dealer father, started downhill mountain biking, and continued his passion for live music and digital recording/music production.
2019 - Present Day Apart from a brief pause due to Covid, Chris currently operates as B² GbR, his German business partnership with his wife Annika. Together, they offer mentoring, consulting, and other business-related services through their deep understanding of business and product development and the Media, Entertainment and Event Production space.
